Do Past Lives Shape Who We Are Today? Three Stories That Might Surprise You

Have you ever wondered why certain patterns keep showing up in your life? Why you’re drawn to specific people, cultures, or even struggles—without any logical explanation? One of the most fascinating ways I’ve explored these questions is through past life readings.

Now, before you roll your eyes, let me be honest: I’m not 100% sure if past lives are real in the way we imagine them. But here’s what I do know—when clients hear these stories, something clicks. They recognize patterns. They feel relief. They gain perspective that helps them make better, healthier decisions. And that, to me, is where the magic happens.

Today, I want to share a few of my favorite past life stories. They’re intriguing, sometimes shocking, and—most importantly—they show how the echoes of the past can influence the present.

1. A Love for Women That Transcended Time

One of my clients, a lesbian woman, came to me seeking clarity in her personal life. During her session, I heard Spirit say:

“This is the story of why I’m gay.”

As I tuned in, a vivid image emerged: Austria, around the 16th or 17th century. My client had lived as a wealthy man who adored women—not just physically, but completely. He loved their laughter, their elegance, their strength. In that life, he married a woman for business and social reasons, but the marriage lacked passion. Both partners found love elsewhere and respected each other’s freedom.

When I shared this, my client laughed and said, “That makes so much sense! I’ve always loved everything about women—not just intimacy, but their essence.”

This wasn’t about “karma” or punishment. It was simply a soul continuing to celebrate what it loves.

2. The Eunuch and the Maharaja’s Harem

Another client came to me torn about a complicated relationship with a man. When I read for her, I saw a surprising past life: India, in the court of a Maharaja.

Her partner had been a eunuch—yes, really—responsible for managing the Maharaja’s vast harem. Imagine the drama of caring for dozens of royal wives, each vying for influence! He became a trusted advisor, navigating chaos with intelligence and grace, but at great personal cost—a nervous breakdown.

What’s wild is that my client confirmed that her current partner struggles with other women’s involvement in their lives. The patterns repeated.

Curious, I googled it after the session—and sure enough, history confirmed it. Eunuchs really did serve as guardians and administrators of royal harems. That was a detail I couldn’t have known otherwise.

3. Lost at Sea—Twice

One client came worried about her husband. In a past life, I saw her in ancient Carthage, married to a fisherman-merchant. He left on a trading voyage through the Mediterranean, then into the Atlantic—and never returned.

My client’s jaw dropped:“Are you sure you’re not talking about this lifetime? My husband’s father disappeared at sea off the coast of South Africa—and was never found.”

Patterns don’t just echo—they ripple. These stories suggest we return to similar lessons until we master them.

So… Are Past Lives Real?

Here’s the truth: I don’t know for sure. But these stories—these threads that connect people across time—offer something priceless: perspective. Whether literal or symbolic, they help us understand our deepest desires, fears, and challenges.

In the end, that’s what matters. If a story helps you forgive, love better, or live with more grace, does it matter what we call it?
